7 days in Greece

ruins Athens, Greece
Day 1: we will fly from Barcelona into Athens, the capital of Greece. After landing at the airport, we will take the metro to the city centre and we will walk to our hostel. Once we check in, we will take the bus and head to the Plaka district, where we are going to eat the best food in Europe. The feta on the Greek salads is incredibly fresh, the pita bread is so warm, and the moussaka is mouth-watering. The views of the Acropolis on the hill are stunning from here.

Day 2: we will spend the day in Athens visiting the ruins, namely the Acropolis and the Parthenon. Our first visit will start at the Acropolis Museum, where we will learn all about the ruins right before we actually experience them. After visiting the museum, we will head up to the Acropolis and the Parthenon, where we are going to watch an amazing sunset.

Oia Santorini, GreeceDay 3: we will wake up early and take a ferry to the island of Santorini. The ferry takes between 4-6 hours and usually leaves at seven in the morning. We will spend our first night near the town of Fira, the capital of Santorini. After checking in we will walk through its streets and have dinner.

riding donkeys Santorini, GreeceDay 4: we will take the funicular down the mountain to board a half-day boat tour that will take us to the volcano and hot springs for an amazing bath. After the adventure tour we will ride a donkey up to the top of the cliff and have a nice relaxing lunch. In the late afternoon / early evening we will take a bus to Oia, where we are going to spend the next two nights in a luxurious resort surrounded by the most amazing views of the Mediterranean sea.

bell tower Oia Santorini, GreeceDay 5: we will wake up early again and climb up a bell tower to watch the sunrise. It is going to be one of the best experiences of our trip to Greece. After that we will rent a car and head to the beach for the day. We are going to take sandals or water shoes because all the beaches in Santorini are rocky. The most spectacular beach in the island is the Red Beach in Akrotiri. Its red rock is truly unique!

Day 6: we will devote the morning to visit a winery for some locally sourced wine. After that we will take the ferry back to the port of Piraeus, Athens. We will have the option to head back to Plaka and enjoy our last dinner.

Day 7: we will fly back home. Since we will stay at the same accomodation we were at on our first nights in Athens, we will already know our way back to the airport.
